Students should come to class every day prepared to plié, paint, and play! Students should wear closed-toed shoes, socks, and clothing in which they can easily dance and move around. We have smocks available in our art studio, however, we would advise wearing or bringing clothes that can get dirty - art can be messy!
-
Students should bring a nut-free snack and a water bottle to class every day. We also recommend packing an extra change of clothes. All program supplies and materials will be provided by Fairmount.

Yes! The theme for Session One (winter 2025) will be Colors & Critters, and for Session Two (spring 2025) will be Shapes & Patterns. In addition to exploring these core creative principles, students will dive into classic children’s books featuring works by authors such as Laura Numeroff, Eric Carle, and Dr. Seuss.

Our preschool curriculum represents a combination of Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards, and Fairmount’s philosophy of enriching lives through the arts. We are guided by the following principles in our work as arts educators; respect, support, collaboration, passion, professionalism, innovation, and inclusion.
In this program, students will expand Cognitive Development by focusing on symbolic thought and creative problem-solving; they will enhance Creative Development through an exploration of artistic expression, creativity, and play; with the integration of classic children’s literature, students will build Language and Literacy Skills; they will work on Physical Development and motor skills in our creative movement and dance classes; and students will develop Social and Emotional Skills through a focus on self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship building with peers.

The whole-child approach to learning is an educational approach that extends beyond academics to include students’ mental, emotional, social, and creative well-being. It is a holistic approach that considers the child as a multi-dimensional person. A program based on whole-child learning is tailored to meet each student where they are, emphasizing their developmental needs.

The program will culminate in a Share Performance for family and friends at 11:00 a.m. on the last day of each session. Students will present the art projects and exciting dance moves they have been working on. There will be a small reception to follow, and then students will get to take all their artwork home.
There are two sessions offered every programming season. If you would like to sign up for both sessions to attend the program for the entire semester, you can receive a discount on Session Two of $150! Call (440) 338-3171 for more information.
Eligible students for this program must be potty trained.
