Art Classes

From the first crayon masterpieces to intricate designs in acrylic and canvas, visual arts classes are an ideal way to help develop fine motor skills through various activities like painting, drawing, sculpting, cutting, and gluing. As you get older, each stroke, cut, and paste offers a creative outlet for emotional expression, improves your critical thinking, and enhances your concentration and patience as your artistic endeavors become more elaborate. And let's not forget that rush of "I did that!" when you see your finished project. After all, who doesn't love seeing their imagination come to life?

Not ready to commit to a full session? Check out our workshop page for more information on one-day to 3-week long classes that are low-commitment, but yield amazing results and give you new skills!

Preschool Art

Early Childhood Art (Ages 3-5)

  • Preschool art classes at Fairmount are designed for the littlest artist in your household. Students are encouraged to tap into their imaginations as they explore multiple artistic mediums including paint, clay, paper, and more! Students must participate with an accompanying parent/caregiver during class.

Youth Art

Youth & Teen Art (ages 6-17)

  • Youth and teen art classes are designed to encourage deeper exploration into a variety of art mediums- with certain classes providing multi-arts experiences, while others focus on singular mediums such as drawing or clay. Classes are divided into smaller age brackets and projects are tailored to student interests.

Adult Art

Adult Art (Ages 18+)

  • Adult art classes at Fairmount feature shorter class session lengths, one-day workshop options, and afternoon/weekend/evening availability to fit into your busy schedule! Mediums offered include watercolor, acrylic, printmaking, drawing, and more, in addition to specialty mediums for our one-day workshops.

If you or your student require special accommodations to participate in our camps and classes, please contact Sydney Kreuzmann, Director of Programming, at prodir@fairmountcenter.org prior to registering. Thank you for your cooperation!
