Fairmount School of Music strives to create a positive environment where students learn to access their abilities as individual musicians and as members of a constructive, creative community. We believe that all children are musical and will enjoy a lifetime of making music if given a nurturing environment. Our faculty are hand-selected for their abilitiy to nurture their students' talent and abilities.

Fairmount School of Music offers music classes for all ages: preschool through adult. Lessons are offered in Pepper Pike at the Church of the Western Reserve with satellite locations in Chagrin Falls and Bainbridge. We offer both private lessons as well as Suzuki Method instruction. Recitals are scheduled throughout the year and although students are encouraged to perform, participation is not mandatory. All recitals are free and open to the public to observe.

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION - INSTRUMENT
(Reading age through Adult)
Private weekly lessons are available for all levels; beginning through advanced. Great for students already in an orchestra or performing group at school and our highly qualified instructors will further enhance the musical experience. Instructors will guide you through where to purchase or rent an instrument. Instruction is available in:

SUZUKI INSTRUCTION - INSTRUMENT
(3-1/2 years through Youth)
The Suzuki method is based on the premise that children learn to play an instrument in the same way they learn to talk- by listening, imitation and repetition. This enables the very young child to begin an instrument before learning to read. Ths Suzuki Method includes private lessons as well as group classes where children play and perform together. Parent involvement at the lesson and the home practice are a key part in the teacher-parent-child relationship. Observations are required before beginning this program.

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION - VOICE
(9 years through Adult)
Private vocal music instruction is offered in a variety of musical styles - musical theatre, Disney, classical or sacred music. Students have the opportunity to perform in two recitals a year.

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION - GUITAR
(7 years through Adult)
Private music instruction is offered in a wide variety of musical styles using classical, acoustic or electric guitar. In addition to guitar instruction, students are nurtured into a well-rounded musician through the incorporation of music theory, improving rhythmic and aural skills with Dalcroze Eurhythmics and inspired exercises and activities.
